There's no webmail tar.gz file. This is the file you have to install: http://www.ispconfig.org/downloads/webmail.pkg

Its a .pkg file. Hava e look at the download URL and you will see it has the .pkg ending. Maybe you cllient shows it as .zip file, because its zip compressed.
and i got the following error:
Konnte Verzeichnis '/home/admispconfig/ispconfig/web/tools/tools/webmail' nicht erstellen.
Whats that....
This error means that there is already a webmail package installed. You must uninstall it before you can upload the new webmail.pkg.

OK, I have ISPConfig installed and it seems to be working, but I want to install UebiMiau and have downloaded the pkg file. But what are the specific commands to install it. I have searched, but can't find instructions. Also, is there a good administrators guide for the ISPConfig console.
Thanks,

Please use the ISPConfig update manager to install the .pkg package. The update manager is under management in the web interface.

The ISPConfig webmail is always installed on port 81 of your server domain. If you entered trafmeter.new.bg as server domain during installation it is installed on https://trafmeter.new.bg:81/webmail.
You can either install another webmail package of you choice in a website you created in ISPCOnfig or you create a website mail.data.bg and put a index.php or index.html page in this site that redirects to https://trafmeter.new.bg:81/webmail/

I'll try this... but I think that's not a very good idea to use redirecting index file. This steals cpu power... on low-end PC  The main problem maybe is how to configure the ISPConfig - create a domain and site... I must be sure that my test machine is working 1-2 weeks stable with at least 3 sites with dynamic content... plus mail-server with his own site and other things like trafficmeter (that's my first idea) and maybe later and router with needed software for that. On 2xCPU with enough RAM it is possible to run everything  When I saw the walkthrough for UBUNTU Server I love it! But I don't expect very strange problems... maybe the walkthrough needs to be rewrited with solved problems... maybe :D  Till, I gave you an access to my test machine. I dont think this steals CPU power. The redirect is done by the client browser.

I'am not sure that i understand what you problem is:confused: How to create sites and users is described in the ISPConfig manuals and a server with ISPConfig is as stable as the underlying services apache, postfix, etc. are.
The Ubuntu howto has been tested several times, it really works :)

A redirecting index file really doesn't steal much CPU power... Hosting mailboxes really eats up much more CPU power.
But if you don't want a redirect: You can simply create a web site like webmail.example.com in ISPConfig, and then you install a webmail software like Squirrelmail or Uebimiau in that web site. :)

I HOPE THAT'S THE WAY! :o
And the current e-mail accounts must be saved after this action... with passwords!?
Compared the files have differencies...
in webmail.zip:
3 files - nav.inc.php, package.inc and webmail.tar.gz
in http://www.uebimiau.org/downloads/uebimiau-2.7.9-any.zip - there's only a dir "webmail"

No, not at all! Forget about the webmail package you installed in ISPConfig. You simply create a new web site, and in that web site you install a webmail package like Squirrelmail. It has nothing to do with ISPConfig's webmail package.

But how to remove it??? I couldn't find a solution for this risky action  OK, let's accept that I already removed the webmail.zip... After that I created a site trafmeter.new.bg... First make a reseller TEST, next site for TEST (which site is trafmeter.new.bg) with domain and mysql database for it... after I made a mail account test@trafmeter.new.bg. For now I can send and receive mails from test@trafmeter.new.bg from all world (if I send to real existing mail-address)... How to install UebiMiau to trafmeter.new.bg if the usual way is not good. Yeah, I saw some missing features in ISPConfig's Uebi... in web-mail interface when I logged with test@trafmeter.new.bg. Misssing part with Autoanswer option (where is the MESSAGE box?)
Oh, one interesting shi7 :D is that I couldn't find how to remove reseller TEST... there has a ADMIN by default :) which I also can't remove it! Where's the option... Blah, I don't know how to explain it - this Panel needs some improving ;)

How do I configure the system to respond to webmail.servername.com
I have all installed, but when trying to connect to the server via pop from a machine on the local network I can't connect.
My understanding is that ISPConfig will work with Horde, is this true?

To remove a reseller, click on the reseller, then select delete. Thats easy and straight forward :)
You cant delete the admin. If you would delete the admin account, you wont be able to login anymore. That makes sense to me too.

ISPConfig client manual:
http://www.ispconfig.org/downloads/manual_en/manual_kunde_en_src.htm
5.1 Webmail
The application used as email interface is called "Uebimiau". Further information can be found on the website of the Uebimiau project: http://uebimiau.sourceforge.net/ .
The application can be accessed via the link under "Tools" or via the folder "webmail" which is located in the web of the ISPConfig system, thus https://www.domain.tld:81/webmail/ where www.domain.tld has to be replaced appropriately.
How do I configure the system to respond to webmail.servername.com
Create a new website "webmail.servername.com" and install a webmail package their or place a redirect in the website that forwards the users to the ISPConfig UebiMiau installation on https://www.domain.tld:81/webmail/
I have all installed, but when trying to connect to the server via pop from a machine on the local network I can't connect.
Please post the output of:
netstat -tap
My understanding is that ISPConfig will work with Horde, is this true?
ISPConfig works with any webmail program.
For general understanding: ISPConfig is only a controlpanel, it neither provides SMTP, pop3 imap or http services. It just configures them. The question is if your webmail program works together with your imap or pop3 daemon, not if it works with ISPConfig.
UebiMiau for example needs only a pop3 server, thats why we use it as default. Horde needs an Imap server, so if you have IMAP installed on your server, you can install and use horde as webmail client.

You dont have to remove the current UebiMiau to install another UebiMiau or other webmail software in a different website like "webmail.yourdomain.com".
By the way is this "HORDE" better than Uebi Miau?
That depends on your personal preferences. My favorite webmail client is squirrelmail.
Please, give me a good public server where I can post screenshots to show you current status of my server!

How to change this??? In my opinion for easy administration all stuff in ISPConfig must have equal names of files... why when I create accounts for everything there are different filenames... web1_... test@trafmeter.new.bg... I think that creating of one reseller with client the names of mail accounts, web sites MUST be automatic created

You can't change that, unless you rewrite the Uebimiau login code (have a look here: http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1761 ).
ISPConfig creates real system users, that's why you must use the usernames in email clients like Outlook and Thunderbird. There's no other solution - which is not really a problem because you enter your account information only once in Outlook and Thunderbird and then forget about it.
The normal Uebimiau webmail package that you can download from the Uebimiau web site would also use the usernames. But we thought that - since you must login to webmail again and again and always remember your username - nobody can remember their usernames, but their email address is no problem. And because we have the email addresses and usernames glued together in the ISPConfig database, we decided to rewrite the Uebimiau login so that you can use your email address. :)

It's not work! OK... Let's describe simple steps for "What can I do to run site and mail account?":
Step 1 - first I create reseller... Why RESELLER appears with "admin" icon like power-user, but there has a record in "resellers" under ADMIN?
Step 2 - second I create client. I used one name for all - TEST... TEST for reseller, for client, for site, for mail-account, TEST also is the password for all
Step 3 - third I create site (TEST)
Step 4 - fourth I create mail-account TEST with password TEST. I don't create co-domains, but make a Certificate (SSL)
Step 5 - all works through web-panels... UebiMiau too... When I make account in Outlook Express I put all things that you advise... I also turn on the SSL in Outlook. I CANNOT SEND MAILS... BUT I CAN RECEIVE?!?

Can I add records in MyDNS and BIND9 at the same time, but MyDNS is the primary DNS... BIND9 to be secondary...You can run only one of them, because they both try to bind to port 53 which means they'd conflict if they ran at the same time.

Why? It's working perfectly for Till and me like that - just copy and paste, and it works. :)

3rd version? CooL :D Yeah, the setup works with copy/paste. But problems occur sometime :) And after that I must "attack" this forum for simple and fast solution :D Sometimes this is time-consumpting for me (maybe and for other members of the forum)
Edit: Today I installed PhpMyAdmin but when I click on phpmyadmin link from the panel there's a user and password prompt. I used localhost for username and the password of mysqladmin. I cannot enter in MyAdmin. Maybe he has own username and password?

You must use an MySQL user and his password, for example root and the MySQL password you entered during ISPConfig installation.
Another example: you create the database web1_db1 in ISPconfig with the user web1_u1 and the password hello.
Then you type in web1_u1 as username and hello as password in phpMyAdmin.

Try mysql -u root -p MySQL asks you for the password then.

Yes, it might be a good idea to reinstall MySQL. Dont forget to remove the tables in /var/lib/mysql after you uninstalled mysql. Otherwise the reinstallation will use the old password table.

I saw that in this file /etc/mysql/my.cnf I haven't "skip-networking". I add this option under "skip-external-locking" and then restart mysql. Before the procedure of new install of mysql I just run first "apt-get update" then "apt-get upgrade". There are no problems during installation of mysql but what is THIS?
Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: YES) in /home/admispconfig/ispconfig/lib/classes/ispconfig_db_mysql.lib.php on line 76

This is my attemp to login in ISPConfig from title page :)
Yes, I delete the tables in /var/lib/mysql with "rm -r *.*"
Is it possible to make every time before installing software "apt-get update+upgrade" and after installing???

That happens when you add skip-networking to your my.cnf file. ISPConfig is not able anymore to connect to mysql when you block the networking connections.

OK, I deleted "skip-networking" and then restart mysql again. The result is the same  What can I do...? To do again the perfect setup or to wait for version 3 for which Falko told me

You can use a Linux rescue CD to reset your password.
