I am running apache2 installed via apt which has been the case for many years now, but I am wanting to have everything hosted virtually using MySQL, I plan to have all the system users stored in MySQL too which I am quite sure I can do, right now I am trying to make sure when I change everything over to MySQL I can still use the userdir function i.e. server/~username. I have found a userdir mysql mod similar to the ldap one, but considering the apache i am running was installed via apt I really have no clue as to how to install it. Of course any alternatives to having this functionality would be just as good.
Thanks.

Apache doesn't support reading its configuration from a MySQL database... :(

I am aware that this is not natively supported but I did a quick search before and found there was a patch that someone had made based off the ldap version...unfortunately this was never added to apt like the ldap version, i'll see if I can pull up the link again, shouldnt be too hard. Though even some sort of htaccess trick perhaps, would suffice.
