Basic file server?

Hello people,
I want to setup a basic file server for public access, what are the minimum requirements for ubuntu? I don't want php, mysql, or any of that, just ftp and web access. Thanks in advance.

And for an FTP server, this is a good setup: http://www.howtoforge.com/debian_etch_virtual_hosting_pureftpd_mysql_quota (should work on Ubuntu Feisty as well).
