I installed awstats with this tutorial:

is it possible to stop webalizer stats from generating and put awstats in the /stats directory?

Not without changing the code of the webalizer and awstats scripts.

It's true, but the last dev version of ISPConfig (which integrates AWStats) uses /stats instead of /awstats
