Ubuntu Feisty Fawn

All of a sudden, (even after rebooting) synaptic and add/remove are both opening, but shut down a second later. Not sure why.

The logs show this:

More errors:

Have you tried to reboot the system?

A segmentation fault *can* be an indication of a hardware problem (maybe hard drive failure or something like that).
