I just setup a test email account that will be used for sending mail.
Here is my mail log when I send a email to my email account at optonline:

May 1 17:07:57 PowerEdge6400 postfix/smtpd[4190]: connect from unknown[192.168.0.1]
May 1 17:07:57 PowerEdge6400 postfix/smtpd[4190]: 5A69C2C0C4: client=unknown[192.168.0.1], sasl_method=PLAIN, sasl_username=web6_admin
May 1 17:07:57 PowerEdge6400 postfix/cleanup[4193]: 5A69C2C0C4: message-id=<91C7262E-61FD-4AF1-948B-D340167C4FA7@allthingstesla.dyndns.org>
May 1 17:07:57 PowerEdge6400 postfix/qmgr[3286]: 5A69C2C0C4: from=<admin@allthingstesla.dyndns.org>, size=601, nrcpt=1 (queue active)
May 1 17:07:57 PowerEdge6400 postfix/qmgr[3286]: 5A69C2C0C4: to=<tommacs@optonline.net>, relay=none, delay=0.08, delays=0.06/0.02/0/0, dsn=4.4.1, status=deferred (delivery temporarily suspended: connect to mx2.optonline.net[167.206.4.79]: Connection timed out)

I can't seem to figure out why this is happening. Is Optonline rejecting my emails?
In other attempts I also saw mx1.optonline.net being used and it does the same thing, connection time out.

Now with gmail:

May 1 17:11:10 PowerEdge6400 postfix/smtpd[4248]: connect from unknown[192.168.0.1]
May 1 17:11:10 PowerEdge6400 postfix/smtpd[4248]: BFA802C0C6: client=unknown[192.168.0.1], sasl_method=PLAIN, sasl_username=web6_admin

May 1 17:11:11 PowerEdge6400 postfix/qmgr[3286]: BFA802C0C6: removed

This was sucessful (gmail)

I also get this email shortly after:

For some reason I'm on SORBs?? I have know idea how, but I do have a dynamic IP. SORBs I think is IP based and not domain name based though. I sent them a email to remove my IP.

Why is my account being rejected?

Thanks for all of your help, I'm completely clueless on how to solve this sending mail problem. Receiving mail works like a charm.

EDIT: in the title i meant *anyone, i'm no spammer

I have know idea how, but I do have a dynamic IP.
That's the problem. Most dynamic IPs are blacklisted nowadays.
You can check on which blacklists you are listed: http://www.mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx
