Since etch is out I get this message during an upgrade (I'm still using sarge):
Couldnt get a file descriptor referring to the console
I only can stop it by pressing STRG+c

apt-get upgrade
...
Do you want to continue? [Y/n] y
Setting up console-common (0.7.69) ...
Looking for keymap to install:
de-latin1-nodeadkeys
Deferring virtual terminal setup until console accessible.

I've got the lastest version but I don't understand "iF"
server01:/# dpkg -l|grep console
iF console-common 0.7.69 Basic infrastructure for text console config
ii console-data 1.01-7 Keymaps, fonts, charset maps, fallback table
ii console-tools 0.2.3dbs-56 Linux console and font utilities
ii libconsole 0.2.3dbs-56 Shared libraries for Linux console and font
I've got /dev/console and /dev/tty files.

I've done in CLI not in a GUI.
