2 problems bind + mail

hello i just install mandriva 2007 free some days ago,

Now i got 2 problems my named won't start and sins today i don't get the e-mail piple send to me what can i do?

Any errors in your logs?
What's the output of netstat -tap?

Sorry for my late reply but i did a clean install on a system i know better (fc5) and everything is ok now.
