Hi

I installed Debian Etch and did the The Perfect Xen 3.0.3 Setup For Debian Sarge until this step on page 2.

(The Perfect Xen 3.0.3 Setup For Debian Sarge - Page 2 (http://howtoforge.com/debian_sarge_xen_3.0.3_p2))

[...]

update-rc.d xend defaults 20 21
update-rc.d xendomains defaults 21 20

[...]

because the next step would be ...

depmod 2.6.16.29-xen

BUT I want to use one of the newes kernels from http://kernel.org

some like this one:

The latest stable version of the Linux kernel is: 2.6.20.7

but I don't know how to solve this because I don't know what I have to change on the existing commands given from the how to.

should I just go step by step ahead until the step: 4.2 Compile A dom0 Kernel and modify the how to for my new kernel from there on??

but anyway - I wouldn't know how to go on from there.

Could anyone give me some help / tipps please?
Or is this a stupid idea because the newst kernel is not xen able and/or it's absolutly unstable ?! - I'm just a newbe in this area ;-)

Thanks a lot!

That's the problem. Only certain kernels work with Xen. For Xen 3.0.3, it's 2.6.16.
