authentication problem - Virtual Hosting With PureFTPd And MySQL

Hi

I followed this howto (http://www.howtoforge.com/pureftpd_mysql_virtual_hosting) but I cannot login. This is the message i get in /var/log/messages

Jan 31 16:53:56 desktop pure-ftpd: (?@localhost) [INFO] New connection from localhost
Jan 31 16:54:04 desktop pure-ftpd: (?@localhost) [INFO] PAM_RHOST enabled. Getting the peer address
Jan 31 16:54:07 desktop pure-ftpd: (?@localhost) [WARNING] Authentication failed for user [*my_loginname*]
Jan 31 16:54:14 desktop pure-ftpd: (?@localhost) [INFO] Logout.

I am not sure what it means. I googled it, but the only pages that might be helpful were in french, which i parle seulement un tres petit peu.

I set conf/PAMAuthentication to "no", but still couldnt login.

Does somebody know what's going on?

Are you absolutely sure your username and password are ok?

I dont know what changed but a day and a boot later it suddenly works.
So thanks for your reply. Your question made me try it one more time and both accounts I added yesterday work now.
