Hi,

the size of the file system does not matter much, the snapshot will always be created within a very short time frame (usually less than a second). However, performing the actual backup of the data of course takes longer when there is more data to back up. In this case you might want to look into using a different backup mechanism (mylvmbackup supports rsync or rsnap as an alternative to tar).
