Excellent tuturiol on how to setup the Dovecot,but a few steps have been excluded from the above tuturiol.When adding the passdb file,the type of password has been exluded,this must be defined in the passdb file, so correct structure is as follows

joe@domain1.com:{PLAIN}$1$G/FqlOG5$Vj0xmc9fKY.UVr8OW
