turns out that Hardy includes v1.07... same as ur howto...

libitalc_1.0.7-0ubuntu2_i386.deb
italc-master_1.0.7-0ubuntu2_i386.deb
italc-client_1.0.7-0ubuntu2_i386.deb

looks like we could use the packages in the repository
