setting up mysql alternative instruction needed

You had:

mysql -u root -e "create database xwiki"


that wouldn't work for me.

 

$ mysql -u root -p -e "create database xwiki"

worked, without the -p  MYSQL responded "access denied. with it, mysql responded with a password challenge and accepted it.
