NTFS, flash and truetype

About NTFS write support : it has not been enabled by default in Mandriva 2008. See the errata and the release notes.

About Flash : available in Powerpack edition and maybe One edition.

About Truetype fonts : another way to import truetype fonts is to use "drakfont" which will import fonts from your windows partition. Compared to your solution, it's legal in any country and doesn't require any additional download but the drawback is that you need a windows installation in dual-boot.
