Fail to connect...

I fail to connect to the postfix mail server.

When I type: "telnet localhost 25"

I get:

"Trying 127.0.0.1...

Connected to localhost.localdomain.

Escape character is '^]"

But I don't get: "200 server1.example......"

What could be wrong?
