ADL Embedded Solutions is demonstrating the highly compact “ADLE3800PC” single-board computer at Embedded World in Nuremberg this week. The 90 x 96mm module is designed in accordance with the […]
Antivirus and anti-spam protection are the among the most important security features for a mail server. Unix/Linux based mail servers are typically invulnerable to malware and viruses, and there is a very slim chance that the server itself may get infected. On the other hand, the operating system of an end user device may not always be so secured. We certainly do not want our mail server to accept or distribute malware embedded emails. So setting up antivirus software on a mail server is a must. In this tutorial, we will be looking at how to secure our mail server by setting up Clam Antivirus, SpamAssassin and MailScanner.

What is the point of .htaccess, anyway? It's just another cruel hoax to keep us scared and humble, isn't it. It may seem that way, and even the Apache devs consider it a form of near-magic. It relies on Perl Compatible Regular Expressions, so any rules you write for .htaccess are mostly punctuation...We're diving into Drupal 7 because it's a special case that needs more complex configuration. It's not well-documented, so hopefully this will help the hordes of frustrated Drupal 7 admins.
This is very interesting, Nothing To Hide is a game where you are your own watchdog, a game of anti-stealth and it looks pretty cool. Everything for it is in the public domain too!
Rockchip is the second chipmaker to jump on ARM’s recently announced Cortex-A17 processor design, after MediaTek’s octa-core MT6595 system-on-chip. This heir to the quad-core, Cortex-A9 RK3188, which fuels Android stick computers like the Rikomagic MK802IV and Ugoos UM2, was tipped at CES as being a Cortex-A12 processor. However, Rockchip instead converted the SoC to the similarly 32-bit Cortex-A17.

The Xubuntu team is pleased to announce the release of Xubuntu 14.04 Beta 1. This is the first beta towards the final LTS release, and with it we have landed a lot of new features and improvements we've been preparing since the last LTS release two years ago. The highlights of this release include: Light Locker replaces XScreenSaver for screen locking, a setting editing GUI is included; the panel layout is updated, it now uses Whisker Menu as the default menu; Mugshot is included to allow you to easily edit your personal preferences; MenuLibre for menu editing, with full Xfce support, replacing Alacarte; a community wallpapers package which includes work from the five winners of the wallpaper contest; updated artwork.
Kubuntu 14.04 Beta 1 is available for testing. The KDE Applications 4.12.2 suite release has dozens of bug fixes. Muon 2.2 Alpha 1 is the first step towards a new version of Kubuntu's software store. The previous Additional Drivers application is being replaced by the all new Driver Manager. The manager allows you to install and select the driver you want to use for software that has more than one supported driver, including proprietary drivers. The new Plasma Network Manager features a redesigned user interface, giving you more control while retaining its simplistic design. Install KDE Connect on your desktop and your Android mobile phone to integrate the two..
Google is ramping up its plans to bring the Project Ara modular smartphone to market by scheduling its first developer conference. The company will hold the conference on April 15-16 at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, Calif. A limited number of developers will be able to attend the conference in person, but anyone can participate online through a live stream and interactive Q&A.
Last October, I speculated on the best ways to go about designing and implementing a software backdoor. I suggested three characteristics of a good backdoor: low chance of discovery, high deniability if discovered, and minimal conspiracy to implement.
The two largest BitTorrent trackers on the Internet have been down for a few days, and will remain offline for another week. The tracker owners are performing maintenance and replacing hardware to cope with the billions of connection requests they get each day. Interestingly enough, most casual BitTorrent users are completely unaware of the prolonged downtime.
Serge Hallyn from the Ubuntu Virtualisation team has proposed recently the inclusion of the soon-to-be-released Qemu 2.0 application in the forthcoming Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) Linux operating system.
Those who keep up with my posts on Google Plus might know about my month-long struggle with Google Drive. For those who do not, here’s the deal. I split a 200 gig account with my organization Reglue. Half of it I pay for so I have a place to backup my important stuff. The other half is dedicated to files and other documents for Reglue.
